Estate maps and their importance for the study of historical landscapes and serfdom towns

The dissertation deals with the knowledge and reconstruction of the historical landscape of the early to the upper modern period using cartographic sources, maps of the estates from the 18th and the first half of the 19th century, which have not been exploited so far. It seeks answers to the questions of what changes occurred in the landscape during this period and documents them, especially on the example of the serfdom towns in Bohemia. The dissertation is interdisciplinary in nature. It tries to contribute to research in historical geography and to fit thematically into the concept of studying historical landscapes (from identification and documentation to understanding the meanings of their transformations). However, it also uses the approaches of historical cartography in the research, analysis and processing of hitherto neglected cartographic sources - sources of information about the past. Attention in the study of historical landscapes and urban history has so far been paid rather to the younger period from the mid-19th century onwards, mainly because of the availability, mostly wider possibilities of processing the necessary historical sources (topographically more accurate old maps and plans of comparative character) and the accuracy of their narrative value. The Iron Curtain and Its Heritage in the Context of Transformations of the Borderland of Czechia in the Second Half of the 20th Century This bachelor thesis deals with the Iron Curtain and its heritage, which is related how the Iron Curtain is commemorated to us today, and how we can look at the history of the Czech borderland affected by this former barrier. The thesis first introduced the phenomenon of the Iron Curtain and the problem of defining the borders. Then there is the form of discussion with the literature discussed how the Czech borderland changed by the Iron Curtain and its subsequent fall, and what was in this context of the research. It is discussed what is heritage of the Iron Curtain, and its possible use. Own research here is established at first, which is the comments of the Iron Curtain today, and what we can say these comments. Another part of the thesis is focused about the presentation the past of the Iron Curtain, and what people, visitors to the Museum of the Iron Curtain perceive about it. Different types of interviews are detected another interesting finding information on the borderland and the influence of the Iron Curtain. Deserted settlements in the basin of the Zdíkovský stream as part of landscape memory in the Czech borderland

The thesis deals with the topic of landscape memory, especially with the historical landscape structures present in the landscape of borderland during the post-war expulsion of its inhabitants. These are material reminders of the past, the former settlement and land use and in some cases can still serve an ecological function, have aesthetic, educational or historical value or the value of a landscape symbol. The aim of the thesis is to find, document, evaluate, research the state and discuss the significance and use of historical landscape structures from this period. In the research part, the work deals with the problematics of changes in the landscape, its memory and historical landscape structures in the context of the post-war expulsion of its inhabitants. In the practical part, the author documents the occurrence of landscape structures at the time of expulsion using historical aerial photographs and the current orthophoto, digital model of relief 5G and field research using the software QField. Historical landscape structures are categorized based on the criteria of preservation and use and the most significant ones are selected. Proměny české kulturní krajiny - případová studie: mikroregionu Bystřicko

The topic of this diploma thesis is research of transformation of the cultural landscape in two selected cadastral areas in microregion Bystřicko. It is about cadastral area of Rovečné and Vír. In this diploma thesis was used method of literature research, comparative method, survey investigation, cartographic investigation, semi-standardized interviews and SWOT analysis. At first is created detailed characteristics of model areas and cartographic investigation. The results of the survey and semi-standardized interviews are described and then is elaborated a SWOT analysis and its comparison and then the results of comparison of model areas. At the end are solved the results. Changes in the acreage are mention of the last 174 years. In Vír are these changes chiefly on arable land, forests and water areas. At Rovečné these changes are not so significant, but again they are mainly on arable land, forest soil and permanent grasslands. My hypothesis has been confirmed.
